Current project - Co-founded fintech startup (Sep 2024 - Present): **What We're Building**: - Trading infrastructure and quantitative research tools - Full-stack: Next.js frontend, FastAPI backend, PostgreSQL/Redis - Backtesting engine for historical tick data - ML pipeline with PyTorch for signal generation - AWS infrastructure: EC2, RDS, Docker, GitHub Actions **Current Status**: - Small team (2-3 engineers) - Still in development, not production yet - Backtests show promise but need more validation - Learning about realistic trading constraints **Honest Challenges**: - Backtesting results don't always translate to live markets - Data quality and availability issues - Infrastructure costs with limited budget - Balancing development speed vs. code quality - Learning product development while building **What I'm Learning**: - Realistic complexity of production trading systems - Infrastructure management and costs - Working under resource constraints - Technical leadership in early-stage startup **Disclaimer**: This is an active startup project.
